My journey began more than half a century ago.  The shores of Lake Ontario were my playground.  Skipping stones and collecting sea glass were two of my favorite childhood pastimes.  On a hillside at a youth conference in Steubenville, Ohio, I met Jesus.  In the hollows of Eastern Kentucky, I served the elderly and discerned the call to be a teacher.  Later that same voice called me to community as a Franciscan brother in rural Pennsylvania and next to the city of Washington, DC, where I met my husband and our two children.  I am teacher, brother, husband, and father.  The past decade has brought me to the Sacred Valley of Peru and the inner landscape of Vipassana meditation.  These days you will find me mostly at the ocean, on the cushion, and at the table with friends and family.  The reflections on these pages are a weaving from all these threads.  May they be a blessing.
