Break a Rule: August 11 - 17

I am a rule follower by nature. I'm all about creating habits, scheduling my day, and planning for retirement. But every now and then, I color outside of the lines, break out of the box, and challenge the status quo. This week I encourage you to do the same. While perseverance, determination, and consistency are worthy goals, today I give you permission to shake things up.


Eat dessert for breakfast.

Talk to a stranger.

Take a mental health day.

Say "yes" to whatever opportunities show up.

Follow your heart and give your head a rest.



Practice

Let's do an "unpractice" today. Write out your to do list and ignore it on purpose. Don't sit in silence but crank the radio and dance. Walk barefoot outside. Out of the blue, connect with a friend or family member. Spontaneously buy flowers for a loved on and go out on date night. Disregard all my suggestions and do your own thing. Be sure to tell me how it works out.
