Renovation: October 11 - 17

Patrick and I are in the middle of a renovation. This week we found ourselves at a home goods store, strolling through aisles of barstools, rugs, and lamps, when a framed inspirational sign caught my eye. It read, "Gratitude turns what you have into enough."
Just as we sometimes need to change our physical space, so must we shift our inner attitude. Instead of focusing on our lack of time, energy, money or love, gratitude enables us to appreciate the blessings we already hold.
Practice
It is human nature to focus on the negative as a way of self-preservation. It takes an intentional effort to see the good. I often fail to recognize the choice is always mine. My challenge today is to embrace gratitude.
Write "Gratitude turns what we have into enough." on a post-it note and place it where you'll see it.
Right now, look around you and notice three things for which you are grateful.
Text or email a note of appreciation to someone.
Create your own gratitude practice.
