Year in Review: December 31 - January 6

I started the year of mindfulness by focusing on the breath. Now on the last day of this year, I do the same. Every in breath is followed by an out breath. The cycle is complete and we begin again. Thank you for breathing with me these 365 days.




With outstretched hands, I once again offer my breath, my gifts, my words, my hopes, and my dreams for a safer and kinder world. That which was in my thoughts, my heart, my soul, I now release out into the day, into my circle of gratitude, into the universe, trusting my good intentions will make a difference for good. What a joy to be together in this life.




Practice


Find a quiet spot.

Sit in stillness for a few minutes.

Allow the cares of the day and the items on your to-do list

to settle out the same way muddy water becomes clear given a little time.

Maybe place your hand gently on your heart.


Contemplate the questions:

What do I value most deeply?

What do I hold in my heart?

Reflect on the past year.

Don't rush for answers but wait patiently

to see what images and knowings come to the surface.

Maybe journal any insights that arise

or share the experience with a trusted friend.

Live mindfully.
